Planning to stay at properties like Citadines, Oakwood or Quest Apartment Hotels? Then make your next journey even better with a status match to the Ascott Star Rewards (ASR) program! ASR status delivers useful perks like free ‘enhanced’ Wi-Fi, late check-out, complimentary laundry service and more. In fact, if you qualify for a match to the top tier, you’ll even get a free airport transfer in the Middle East!
Ascott Star Rewards’ status match offering is extraordinarily broad. As you’d expect, ASR recognises elite status from just about every other major hotel loyalty program. But having shiny airline frequent flyer status can also get you an ASR status boost, with Qantas Platinum securing ASR’s top level.
Still making tracks towards your very first elite tier? You can also get ASR status via an eligible American Express credit card or charge card. Here’s how to get among the VIP ranks with Ascott Star Rewards!
What are the Ascott Star Rewards status levels?
The rungs of the Ascott Star Rewards program are easy to understand. Beyond the base level (‘Classic’), the tiers are Silver, Gold and Platinum. Simple!

Naturally, as you move to a higher tier, greater benefits await. Silver starts with 20% bonus points on every stay with late check-out ‘on priority’. Make it to Platinum and that’s pushed to a 3pm late check-out, free daily breakfast in Europe, one-way airport transfers in the Middle East, and ‘Full 24-Hour Stay’, where you can choose your own check-in and check-out time.
When it comes to Ascott’s status match, the tier you’ll receive is relative to what you matched from. If you’re a top-tier member of a competing hotel program, a high-ranking frequent flyer or hold a metal American Express Card, it’s likely you’d receive Platinum recognition from Ascott. For first-tier and mid-tier members, Silver or Gold status is more likely from the Ascott Star Rewards status match.

Turn airline status into Ascott status
If you don’t already have elite hotel status, there’s another path to recognition with Ascott Star Rewards. Having a shiny card with the right airline can see you matched straight to ASR Silver, Gold or Platinum, as below.
| Program / matching to | Match to ASR Silver | Match to ASR Gold | Match to ASR Platinum |
| Qantas Frequent Flyer | Silver | Gold | Platinum Platinum One |
| Cathay | Silver | Gold | Diamond |
| Emirates Skywards | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
| Qatar Airways Privilege Club | Silver | Gold Platinum | – |
| Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer | Silver | Gold | PPS Club Solitaire PPS Club |
| Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
Again, the unpublished levels of loyalty programs aren’t listed. So, if you’re sitting on a card like Cathay Diamond Plus, Emirates iO, Qantas Chairman’s Lounge or Singapore Airlines Solitaire Life PPS, try your luck. Based on the public tier matching from those same programs, it’s likely you’d be matched to ASR Platinum.
Last option: credit cards
Ascott Star Rewards will also grant you gratis status if you hold an eligible credit card. For those based in Australia, American Express is the key.
Have an American Express Platinum or Platinum Reserve credit card? Then it’s ASR Gold for you. But, if you have the metal Platinum Card (charge card) or the invitation-only Centurion Card, ASR Platinum awaits.

If you still haven’t found a path towards status but you feel like you may be eligible, you can submit a manual request and ask for consideration. You might take this path as an elite member of Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program – as Ascott Star Rewards doesn’t publicly list how it handles status matching from this program. Keep your fingers crossed that Velocity Silver, Gold and Platinum equals ASR Silver, Gold and Platinum, respectively.
In any case, get started with your Ascott Star Rewards status match via the ASR website.
