It’s back – Qantas Frequent Flyers can again look forward to double Qantas Points or Status Credits for all new flight bookings. Make your choice in the Qantas App and book as many flights as you like for travel between 4 September 2025 and 22 August 2026.
Unsurprisingly, this is always one of Qantas’ most popular offers, as Double Status Credits are the key to unlocking Qantas and oneworld partner airline status perks with half the required flying. But for those who’d rather enjoy more points, you’re not alone. Qantas tells us roughly two-thirds of participants choose double status credits, while the other third pick double points.
In addition, Qantas is also gifting frequent flyers bonus Status Credits based on their tier level.
- Platinum One: 300 Status Credits
- Platinum: 150 Status Credits
- Gold: 80 Status Credits
- Silver: 40 Status Credits
- Bronze: 40 Status Credits (as long as Qantas Points have been earned/used in the last 18 months)
In addition, Points Club and Points Club Plus members will also receive a points gift.
- Points Club Plus: 5,000 Qantas Points
- Points Club: 2,500 Qantas Points
These bonus Status Credits and points will hit accounts in September. However, they will not count towards Lifetime status and no alternative is being offered for those who have already retained their status for the year.

To take advantage of this deal, make one or more new Qantas flight bookings before 11:59 pm AEDT on 3 September 2025. But before you book, make sure you register and choose between double Qantas Points or double Status Credits.
By all means, choose the points if you don’t think you will increase status levels. You’ll get a 100% bonus on the base points earned (not on any status bonuses). For example, a Platinum Frequent Flyer will receive the base points, plus a 100% status bonus and an additional 100% bonus through this offer, for a total of triple points.
But if you’re trying to reach the next elite status tier up, double Status Credits is the boost you need.
Planning to splurge on Business Class tickets from Sydney to London return? You’d typically pocket 560 Status Credits. But with this offer, you’d earn 1,120 Status Credits – within spitting distance of Platinum status if starting from scratch!

How do I register for Double Status Credits?
Make sure to activate the offer before you start booking flights.
- Look for the offer on the Qantas App.
- Choose Double Points or Double Status Credits. All passengers in a booking need to choose separately.
- Book any Qantas-operated flights from 28 August to 3 September 2025 with travel from 4 September 2025 to 22 August 2026.
- You’ll receive your double points or Status Credits within eight weeks after travel.
We’ve confirmed with Qantas that Points Club members will earn double Status Credits on reward seat bookings.
Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards the Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward, or Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements. They do count towards Lifetime status.

Is that fact or fiction?
Been trawling this forum and other places, but haven’t heard a definite answer yet.
Scenario: I booked a flex ARN-LHR-SIN during the last Double SC (March 2025) promotion booking period, for travel with the promotion travel period.
I want to “extend” this booking, changing dates and adding segments, to still all be within the promotion travel period.
So ideally ARN-LHR-SIN-MEL-SIN-LHR-ARN or similar, or just ARN-LHR-SIN-MEL if the former isn’t possible.
It has been suggested that changing the routing of a booking automatically places the booking into a flight credit for a very short time, thus rendering the whole booking unable to get DSCs according to the new T and C?:

Yes, bookings made during the promotional period using flight credits issued prior to 12 March 2025 are eligible for this offer. Flight credits issued on or after 12 March 2025 will not be eligible for this offer. Any bookings made using flight credits outside of the window 12 March 2025 to 18 March 2025 will also not be eligible.

But Qantas Money just told me that you don’t get the 20% Bonus if your are doing a Double Status. T&C for the card says “[Bonus SC] will not be earned in conjunction with other Status Credit promotions unless otherwise specified.” so I think they are right…
I actually called Qantas about this and they confirmed that the activation does not have to be before the booking, as long as it’s for an eligible booking within the promotion period and for the eligible flights. I got them to confirm this with their team too. Any idea?
Also can anyone (Brandon?) provide a definitive link to the T&Cs especially re DSCs for Points Club???

As platinum member I had enjoyed the preferential seating as a frequent domestic traveller ie. Having the ability to access forward rows 5 and 6, the rows behind business.
Qantas have introduced (by stealth it seems) fees for those rows this month. There is now no ability to access to Platinum status customers any more. Appreciating the inclusiveness of approach however placing priority on paying for privilege rather than acknowledging repeat custom is intriguing given the reward alternatives that are springing up.
Interesting that they still claim on their website that they still offer Priority Seat Allocation to the Platinum tier…
Again another reason to consider loyalty.
My status year expires at the end of march and flights would be after that. Will the double status credits be applied for the next membership year after the flights?
Yes, the T&Cs need to be read. You’ve got to be on QF metal – simples.

I’ve had no issues booking flights and yes, find a good agent and it makes life easier.
Do you know if DSC will apply to flights operated by Alliance? For example, flights in and out of Townsville are almost exclusively QF flights operated by Alliance.

If you cancel an existing QN booking during the Double status credit offer period & obtain a flight credit & then rebook using the credit will you get double status credits? The reason I am asking is I cancelled a refundable booking today then used the credit to rebook. I noticed that the Booking Ref was the same so I’m now wondering if the DSCs will apply? Would it be safer to cancel the flight all together for a full credit card refund then rebook???
If you book a flexi flight during this eligibility period for the flights to take place in October 2024 and then change the flights to December 2024, will the change impact the double status credits at all?
I would think once you booked the flight and paid for it, that booking is linked to the DSC offer so if you change the date you would still get the DSC.
I am about to book some Qantas flights but am wondering if I should wait until Wednesday 6th September when the new CEO starts. Maybe there will be new offers to coincide with her start, like double status credits. Have you had any whispers?
From my understanding of the T&Cs and fine print is that the offer only applies to:
1. Flight with a QF number and
2. Qantas Operated flight
If this is true it radically constricts travel to get the double status points.
Domestic travel: I live in Townsville and domestically many of the flights to anywhere in Australia are operated by Alliance Airlines, not Qantas – so are those flights out?
International travel: Qantas has few international flights which have a QF number and operated by them. If one heads to Europe practically every single flight out of say Brisbane goes through Dubai and yes ‘operated’ by Emirates – so are these flights out? From what I can see one practically has to fly to Melbourne to get a full QF flight to say London and then disperse elsewhere within Europe. It is possible to fly from say Townsville (on Alliance Airlines but with QF number) to Brisbane and then from Brisbane to Europe on only Emirates operated flights as a pure QF number and operated Qantas flights are nearly non-existent.
If the scenarios above are correct the double status points deal is extremely limited and I would say misleading by Qantas as the fine print is not clear to the average traveller.
In other words, if you are Platinum you get nothing additional from this as you get double points anyway so you need to choose double SC not double points…..I assume you get double SC if platinum as the TCs only refer to base rate for double points not double SC…
this email was sent out. My status credits expire in March 2023 and my maths see me missing Gold by 40 Status point which is one month of flights for me. Any chance they would extend my status credits for 12 months or even 1 month will likely do it if I’m not sick and can’t fly.
While active members who achieve a higher status tier ARE NOT eligible for status extension, will they receive the increased rollover i.e. if I was to move from gold to platinum this year, would I receive a platinum rollover?
The phrasing of the T&Cs is ambiguous and its difficult to tell.

I don’t believe that is correct. If you’re not eligible for the status extension, you’re also not eligible for status credit Rollover.

I queried this with Qantas last week and received this response:
“However, the Bonus Status Credits that you will earn from the Double Status Credits promotion are to be identified as BONUS and will NOT be counted towards the rollover. As advised from the terms of the Status Credits Rollover, “Status Credits provided by Qantas as a bonus, support or gift will not count towards the rollover.” It would only be the regular / original Status Credits earned will be counted towards the rollover. “

This shut down will finally cut me free of Qantas. No status, move to a more generous and less expensive airline.
QF may think they have done well at Virgin’s expense, but their sheer greed will undermine the hold.
What are QF today are than a points factory, promoting marketing offers?
what am I meant to do? take 33 trips to sydney in a calendar year? Leaves 19 to remain in my own state – if the boarders stay open.

Universal double status credit promotions such as the one last week are offered to all members, so there is no targeting in that sense. However, there are times throughout the year where you may receive targeted status offers, but eligibility for these is based on your oast travel and search behaviour, which is generally determined by IT algorithms rather than human intervention.
That’s vague. American Express Travel is essentially an online travel agent, so should be included. To err on the side of caution, though, book through Qantas if you can.
If the status credits arrive after a new membership year, generally they are rolled over into the new year. However, if the delay has cost you an upgrade in status level, I would call Qantas and make sure they get retrospectively applied.
Be helpful if Qantas could cover this in the T&Cs as it seems a bit hit and miss as to which way the bonus SCs could fall…
This information in your post is contradicting the Qantas website:
“Travel needs to be booked before your status end date. Your flights need to be flown by the end of June 2022, based on current messaging. Existing bookings made before this announcement (11 August 2021) won’t qualify, unfortunately.”
Now it seems people with a status end date up to Dec 2021 will still follow the rule you linked (i.e. booked before 23 Nov 2020 and up to end of membership year). This is based off the Nov 2020 extension.
For those under the newly announced rules, with a status end date from Jan to June 2022, then our current information is correct:
“The booking creation date must be between 11 August 2021 and before the member’s current status end date of between 31 January and 30 June 2022. The flight must be booked to travel before 30 June 2022. “
Does the current DSC QF Promo extend to JQ flights (bundle packs etc) ?
No it doesn’t. It must be a Qantas marketed and operated flight. Therefore, having a QF flight number on your boarding pass, and then getting on a Jetstar plane will not qualify.
Any ideas when the next Velocity double status credits offer is likely to be? I will need to book during this promotion in order to stand any chance of retaining my Gold level with them. I only have one trip coming up in early November.

If I book a flight Flex and it’s on a partner airline with a QF flight code and change it prior to the trip to be a QF operated flight, will I get double status credits? Or does it go off original booking?
The change would have to be made during the offer period for a flight that falls within the travel period. Unfortunately if you were to make the change today, it would fall outside of the offer period, so therefore you would not receive the double status credits.
I have a glimmer of hope. 5 days after lodging an online customer service query Qantas emailed me and included in it was this: “ Please be advised that so long as the booking, registration and travel period was within the time frame, you are eligible for the offer. “
So I might get my status credits. It takes 6 weeks to find out.
That does sound promising. Could you please let us know how you go with this, as your experience will be relevant for future Double Status Credit deals? It has been my understanding that if you book prior to registering, the bookings may not be tagged for the offer, however this may not be the case.
It took 4 days to get through to QFF customer service to ask if the booking counted and QFF says the flights won’t count for the promo (and it would be a huge pain to cancel and rebook and explain to my manager).
I pointed out that the terms actually say “register and book” not “register then book”. I also queried that the email was sent in the pm of the 18th yet you could book an eligible flight from 12:01am of the 18th to the 22nd Feb. So clearly it contemplated a booking made any time on the 18th.
I also pointed out the promo booking terms are ambiguous and to be fair to anyone who had made a booking before registering they should make the booking window start the next day.
I’ve made a complaint by asking for it to be escalated. Not hopeful I’ll hear anything back.

Sorry to hear the situation you’re in.
While technically register and book doesn’t imply an order, it has always been the case that to qualify for Qantas Double Status Credits, you need to register, make sure you wait until you receive an email acknowledging your registration, then make the bookings. It appears in your case your Travel Manager made the bookings prior to registering and receiving the email, which is why Qantas is advising that those bookings would not be eligible.
Normally around 11+ months. This makes this less attractive for those who have been planning well ahead. Probably why they extended the offer time – didn’t get the uptake they were expecting.
Indicates they will do more frequent double SC promos with shorter flight windows?? NOT as convenient. Qantas need to be careful that they don’t become too clever and alienate their best and most loyal customers.
Yes, the 6 month window is definitely less convenient, especially given that a return leg falling outside of the travel period doesn’t earn you double status.
So by my reading and calculations with my upcoming flights before June 30 (my reset date) I’ll end up with 580 SC which with with the loyalty bonus would take me to over 600 SC and I would retain gold but because the bonus SC don’t count towards a loyalty bonus and when you subtract the bonus SC I would actually only be on 460 status credits and the loyalty bonus won’t activate – I quick weekend trip to Sydney should solve the problem but it might catch people out.
