Eager for a sharp-priced getaway with a Qantas flight deal? The Red Roo has released new domestic sale fares on over 85 routes, starting from $109 one-way. There are also discounts to London and Paris across all fare types, with some Classic Plus seats (Economy and Premium Economy) dipping under the usual Classic Reward amount.

All Qantas fares are full service and include points, Status Credits, a checked bag allowance and inflight dining.

It’s not quite the same calibre as the First Class ‘error fares’ that were sold between Australia and the US for around $4,300 return last week (later rebooked into Business Class by the airline as a compromise) – great work if you got that! But if you’re still eager to get a deal, this sale is for you.

Qantas Red Tail international flight deals

Sale period: Book by 11:59 pm 2 September 2024. Blackout dates vary by route.

Jet off to London or Paris for less in all cabins. Travel between October 2024 and March 2025 to find these fares.

Remember, if a Classic Plus fare is cheaper than Classic Rewards, it means the underlying cash fare is discounted. You may wish to purchase the cash fare instead and save your points for another time. But for larger groups, the ability to use your points for multiple seats might be important. It’s up to you.

These Premium Economy seats are usually 216,800 Qantas Points + fees and taxes return.

  • Mackay to Townsville: $139
  • Hobart to Melbourne: $149

For example, Sydney to Gold Coast is usually 8,000 pts + $54 for an Economy reward seat. But if the equivalent fare is $109 as per the sale, your points would only be worth 0.69 cents each, which is very low.

The sale fares also include Qantas Points and Status Credits, which you wouldn’t earn on a reward seat. (The exception is Points Club members who earn a smaller number of Status Credits on Qantas reward fares).
