Why Choose This Card
The MyCard Prestige is a premium card for serious Velocity collectors, and it only makes sense if you travel often and use the benefits.
The 200,000 Velocity Points⁹ sign-up bonus is substantial. The offer requires $12,000 in spend within the first 90 days, with the remaining bonus awarded after holding the card for 12 months, which naturally suits planning to keep this as a longer-term card.
The $700 annual fee is high, but there’s plently of ongoing value! You get 15 Priority Pass lounge visits to share with guests – great if you don’t have status yet you fly multiple times a year.² The complimentary domestic and international travel insurance is also a real saving if you’d otherwise buy standalone cover.⁵
Earn rates are clearly geared towards travel-heavy spending, with higher returns on airlines, hotels, dining, online, and overseas spend, and no cap on points earned.¹
The lifestyle perks are very much “nice if you’ll use them”. $100 Uber Premier cashback⁴, up to 15% off on selected hotels with Luxury Escapes, and the fourth-night-free Luxury Escapes benefit can add real value³, but only if they align with how you already travel.
This card isn’t for casual travellers or anyone just dabbling in points. But if you’re keen to superpower your Velocity balance, and you’re after lounge access, strong earn rates, and complimentary insurances, the MyCard Prestige justifies its premium positioning – provided you’re committed enough to extract the value.
